How many containers does your cargo need?

Total weight6,000 kg / max payload 28,250 kg

Dimensions are ISO 668 standard dry container values (Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, MSC) and may vary by ±1 cm between carriers. The calculation assumes no gaps between boxes; pallets, stacking limits and road weight limits may reduce the result.

20' DC · 261 boxes · drag to rotate, scroll to zoom

The calculation uses the inside dimensions of ISO 668 standard dry containers: a 20’ DC is about 589.8 × 235.2 × 239.3 cm, a 40’ DC 1,203.2 × 235.2 × 239.3 cm, and a 40’ HC has 269.8 cm of inside height.

Boxes are first stacked in neat blocks in the orientation that fits the most, then the remaining gaps are filled with boxes turned in other directions. Orientations that do not pass through the door opening are excluded.

When a weight per box is entered, the container’s maximum payload is also checked and the result is reduced if the weight limit is reached.

Frequently asked questions about container loading

What is the difference between a 20ft and a 40ft container?

A 40ft container is about twice as long inside as a 20ft one; inside width and height are the same. A 40ft High Cube is about 30 cm taller.

Is the calculated number of boxes exact?

It is an estimate. Pallets, stacking limits, box strength and road weight limits may reduce the result in real loading.

Can I use it for palletised cargo?
